Before I begin this project I want to share with you how much I already know about the kelp forests. I know that the forests are found off the coast of Calif., and they need a rocky bottom to attach their holdfasts to themselves. I have seen many nature videos on the kelp forest. I also experienced the kelp forest firsthand and heard lecturers speak about the life in the kelp forest. In terms of teaching I have brought kelp into the classroom for other students to see, smell, classify, and I taught a class here at Warren High called Marine Biology. As part of that class I taught the students about the kelp forests.
